TWENTY YEARS BEFORE ALL LIFE IS EXTINCT - FUKUSHIMA'S LEGACY

TWENTY YEARS BEFORE ALL LIFE IS EXTINCT - FUKUSHIMA'S LEGACY

The recent argument put forth that Fukushima could not possibly be the causation of the massive plant and animal die off in the Pacific Ocean was that 'there has been no die off reported in Japan'. Perhaps the Japanese, with their secrecy laws regarding the publication of Fukushima news, have not been eager to report more of their problems to the world. The bird life in the Fukushima area has been reported to show severe declines. But the recent beaching and death of almost 200 dolphins near Fukushima was too large an event to keep quiet. Large carcasses covered a vast stretch of beach...not a pleasant site.

Thirty experts were called in to assess the dying and dead animals. Approximately seventeen were autopsied. The one common finding seemed to be that their lung tissue was white...absent of the healthy pink color that would indicate blood was flowing through. This effect has been associated with radiation poisoning. The researchers stated they had "never seen anything like this previously and were baffled". This is becoming an oft repeated statement in the scientific world since the Fukushima nuclear catastrophe.

Two hundred fifty million years ago the earth went through its greatest period of mass extinction of plant and animal life. Very little survived after a sixty thousand year die off. It was theorized that volcanic eruptions turned the oceans acidic, causing a disruption of the food chain. Now scientists are theorizing the the continued release into the Pacific Ocean of hundreds of tons of radioactive water (daily) for over four years....and continuing....is causing the acidification of the ocean. The decaying of dead plant and animal material is an acidification event itself.

This last major die off lasted sixty thousand years before there was very little left alive...before mankind and even the dinosaurs appeared. So are humans smart enough to stop this ...?

In fact Nuclear Engineer Chris Harris speaks about our extinction in the next twenty years from Fukushima
Question: “Do you agree that this is, essentially — if it runs the next 20 years without anything happening — basically an extinction event for a good part of the human race and higher life forms?”
Answer: Chris Harris, former licensed Senior Reactor Operator & engineer: “I just jotted down some thoughts really quickly, these are myths of Fukushima: Containment – there isn’t any, even though today they started off probably another failed attempt at the ice walls; Cold shutdown is a myth at Fukushima — they declared it, but there is no cold shut down there; Cooling is a myth there, because you can’t tell that there is actual cooling going to where ever the fuel is; Waste processing… mountains of plastic bags, a mountain of them — that’s waste processing?; Decommissioning is a myth; Cleanup is a myth, it’s a waste generation facility; … There is no containment; Emergency planning there is also a myth, as we have seen because of the faulty electrical systems and everything else from the makeshift system they do have running. So, I am in agreement with your statement.“

It appears doubtful the concerted effort needed can be accomplished. The Pacific is one ocean in a world that is 75% water. It seems there has been no technology developed to stop the pollution from Fukushima. That would be a large help. But no one wants to take the responsibility for the prevention of further nuclear accidents. France just warned China that the steel vendor they both were using to build nuclear plants had produced flawed steel material in their nuclear plants. Other plants are aged over 40 years...out of date...needing expensive repairs. Articles have been written that safety containment structures could be constructed that would contain a nuclear event...but that would make the electricity too expensive. On the other hand killing off the life on earth like the fruit flies that have contaminated their breeding jar, makes the other harder, more expensive solutions suddenly sound attractive.

Solar batteries produced by Tesla are already being installed in some Walmarts to reduce their electric bill during peak hours. These will eventually be available at a reasonable price to all homeowners, providing each residence or business with its own source of power. This will solve our problem of reliance on an electrical grid and certainly do away with the need for nuclear power plants. But we still will have the remaining plants and their spent fuel around for thousands of years. These are accidents waiting to happen. The earth is showing us it is far more fragile than we thought.

While many people will say it is ridiculous that the earth will die out over the next twenty years - what if that prediction happens to be true? It is time for Americans to take a stand & insist Fukushima be contained, no matter what the cost, and immediately, not later.

Amazon allows authors to reduce the price on their books for a week each several months as part of their framework for publication. Because we each reach out to contribute to the world in our own way, "Nuclear Road Trip-Onward to Destruction" is going to be reduced to 99 cents for seven days from Saturday, May 2 through Friday, May 8. It is a novel that tells the story of a group of young investigators, John, Tressa, Aadhill and Bear-Lee-a-Dog, sent to investigate an aging nuclear power plant near Chicago. They are then sucked into the web of ISIS. ISIS wants to conquer America and plans to far exceed the New York City events of 9/11. Click here for more information. This novel is meant to entertain... and perhaps raise our level of awareness.

EARTH DAY AND THE BRAIN CATASTROPHE

Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which events are held worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first celebrated in 1970, and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.

                                          Earth Day Flag

What can we do to make the earth, our home, a better place for all of us? There's lots of things to choose from but here's today's thoughts:

Read a book to gain some knowledge on a subject affecting the earth. It can be fiction or nonfiction but knowledge is power and enables you to make informed decisions. Choose one area of the environment that is endangered by forces trying to destroy it that interests you. Here are a few:

Wildlife preservation
Water pollution
Water wars
Nuclear disasters
Global warming
Preservation of earth's resources
Clean energy

Go to Amazon.com or other online book site and enter your choice into the search section. See what comes up. Many books are extremely inexpensive – from free to 99 cents.

Only about 10% of people read one book per year. And a recent study shows that reading is one way to ward off alzheimer's and dementia! Watching TV and movies are relaxing and entertaining, even informative, but these do not stimulate the brain the same way reading does.

So, why don't we read more? My guess is that there is so much going on in today's world the the time slips away into children, work, sports, and entertainment without us noticing. I'm just as busy as everyone else yet I manage to read several books a week, still work, and continue to have fun. How? I load the books onto my smartphone. There are free apps for smartphones which enable them to download Kindle books, Barnes and Noble, and all other types of Ebooks. Then, when I have spare minutes - before I fall asleep, or wake up in the middle of the night, I reach for my phone. The phone is lit when it is on (no bedlight required) and reading is always at close reach and not disturbing to anyone else. When you are stuck in the waiting room on an appointment, picking up the kids, have a client who is late you can read on the phone. The text can be made large or small so you probably don't even need reading glasses.

You control the unwinding of the story. It is always there for you waiting to draw you further in. If you leave the tale in an exciting moment you will want to get back to see what has happened. If you run into a boring patch – skim through it. I loved “The Life of Pi”, especially the observations that the animals actually like being in a zoo. To animals, lack of change represents safety and they choose safety with food and shelter over excitement. (Maybe most of us do). But the religious philosophical portions did not catch my attention. Those pages got a few seconds each until I got back to the part of the story I enjoyed. Sure, some books are just not readable. But the majority have interesting parts that enrich our knowledge base.
Besides reading to increase your knowledge of the world and make you better prepared (a prepper) here are some other choices for Earth Day:

Make a recycle commitment
Make a clean power commitment
Buy something organic (or grow it)
Make a charitable donation (doesn't have to be big) Try Global Giving for some ideas
Be nice to another person

HAVE A HAPPY EARTH DAY!
We are all in this together for the long run

NUCLEAR POLLUTION - April 22 is Earth Day

NUCLEAR POLLUTION

April 22 is Earth Day

Think you are worried about climate change? How about the earth warming with greenhouse gases and less water to share? Have you heard that Water Wars are being predicted as part of the future?

Well, how about a proliferation of nuclear weapons tests, spewing radioactive material into the air – the air we breathe, that comes out of the air when it rains, attaches to dust and blows with the winds. Then it falls over all our land where we grow crops and into the seas where fish ingest it - and we eat the fish.

And what about those older nuclear plants? The Fukushima nuclear disaster showed that a nuclear plant cannot invariably withstand an earthquake. Their nuclear rods became jammed and overheated to meltdown point. While many say the plant couldn't explode – look at the pictures. If that is not a total explosive disaster, then what is?

Pinned Image

File:Chernobyl Disaster.jpg

The Chernobyl disaster was a catastrophic nuclear accident that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine (Ukrainian SSR), which was under the jurisdiction of Moscow. An explosion and fire released large quantities of radioactive contamination into the atmosphere, which spread over Western USSR and Europe. It is considered the worst nuclear power accident in history

And the radioactive material went EVERYWHERE- to circulate around the earth, through winds and water.

40% of the population of the United States is said to reside within 50 miles of a nuclear reactor. The world has now been exposed to 3 major nuclear disasters – 3 mile Island in the United States (that reactor never operated again), Chernobyl (it is contaminated, deserted, and a total disaster), and Fukushima (still not stabilized and could become worse). Then there are the minor disasters – Hanford, Washington has 240 square miles of contamination that will take billions of dollars and multi, multi years to clean up, if it even can be. The United States government had to be sued to admit there was even a problem – such as excessive deaths from cancer in the area.

Would you drive a 40 year old car 24 hours a day, non-stop? San Onofre, Ca. managed to get a new system put into its old plant. That system didn't go through a required change check, and now is closed down because it did not work properly, there was excessive vibration in the pipes, and finally was leaking radioactive materials. The owners are looking to the utility consumers to pay big bucks for all the mistakes and down time. If the reactor starts back up with the poorly designed system that was installed, it has been predicted that it could have a major accident while running.

One of the most contaminated towns in the world is challenging what we think we know about the dangers of radioactivity. No one has lived longer on contaminated terrain than people in the village of Muslumovo in the southern Russian Urals located downstream from the Maiak plutonium plant, built 1948 to produce soviet bomb cores.

The Techa River in Russia became a flowing radioactive reservoir in 1949 when engineers at the plutonium plant ran out of underground storage containers for high-level radioactive waste. A Dixie cup of this waste could kill everyone in a large ballroom. Compelled by the arms race, the plant director ordered it dumped in the Techa River. The men running the plant didn’t tell anyone about this decision. The 28,000 Russian, Bashkir, and Tatar farmers living on the river—drinking, cooking, and bathing with river water—had no idea. In the 1950s and ’60s special forces resettled most of the 16 contaminated villages on the Techa, but a few villages were too large and expensive to move, so they stayed. Muslumovo is one.

Plutonium plant doctors came up with a new disease, diagnosed, so far, only in the Russian Urals—chronic radiation syndrome (CRS), caused by extended exposure to low doses of radioactive isotopes. The first young plant workers diagnosed with the syndrome complained of headaches, sharp pains in bones and joints, and a constant weariness. One memoirist described the terrible ache of CRS as a pain that made him “want to crawl up the walls.” They lost weight. Their gait slowed. They suffered severe anemia, wheezed heavily, and started to show signs of heart disease.(1)

We have not found a place that is deemed safe to store the nuclear waste that is being produced.. And it is obvious that these few incidents discussed here are just a small smattering of what has happened in the past and what is going on today. Please visit my page of pictures to get a better idea of some of the past nuclear folly we have participated in: http://pinterest.com/barbarabillig/nuclear-catastrophes/ .

So why do we proceed with building and repairing of nuclear plants? Who benefits from all this? The big buck business players who are guaranteed a return on their invested dollars which is paid for by the consumers of electricity as approved by their government. Not many people that start up a business are guaranteed a return, but utility companies are. Current interest rates at the bank are about 1% (if that). Utility companies are guaranteed a certain return by their respective governments that allows them to bill the consumers something in the neighborhood of 5 to 10 percent return on their investment.

It is unkind that the consumers are paying exorbitant prices for their utilities, but to get nuclear pollution along with that is totally intolerable. And so are the nuclear tests that spread nuclear pollution, the nuclear submarines that now lie broken at the bottom of the oceans, the nuclear wastes that leak out of facilities, and on and on.

Some are calling it a War without a war.

April 22 is Earth Day.  Think what you can do to help the earth and its inhabitants to survive in a better world.  I have pledged to donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of my EBook to charity in the year  2013 to benefit the victims of Fukushima, who are largely forgotten and ignored. A Look at the Fukushima Nuclear Catastrophe by Natural News

This is a guest blog from Natural News.

Fukushima reactor No. 4 at risk of catastrophic failure, dwarfing Chernobyl disaster; human civilization on the brink

May 6

NaturalNews Insider Alert ( www.NaturalNews.com ) email newsletter

Dear NaturalNews readers,

I'm interrupting our normal email schedule to bring you an urgent alert that makes everything else seem insignificant by comparison.

The issues of GMOs, fluoride, food freedom and vaccines won't matter at all if we don't solve this far bigger issue that threatens human civilization: Fukushima reactor No. 4.

Right now, the reactor's spent fuel pool is just one earthquake away from a structural failure that could set off a chain of events leading to the release of anywhere from 10 times to 85 times the Cesium-137 released in the Chernobyl disaster.

Such circumstances caused one of Japan's former ambassadors to make the following
extraordinary statement: "It is no exaggeration to say that the fate of Japan and the whole world depends on No. 4 reactor." - Mitsuhei Murata, Former Japanese Ambassador to Switzerland and Senegal, Executive Director, the Japan Society for Global System and Ethics. A failure of the reactor -- and the subsequent catastrophic release of Cesium-137 -- would decimate human life across North America, killing off crops, polluting groundwater, causing widespread infant stillbirths and unleashing an explosion in cancer rates. North America could become uninhabitable by humans for centuries.

Cesium-137 has a half-life of 30 years, meaning that if North America is blanketed with a layer of radioactive dust in 2012, that radioactivity will still be half as strong in the year 2042. It will drop by half again by the year 2072. By the year 2102, it might be low enough to where humans could start to re-colonize the continent, but even then, rates of cancer and birth defects would likely be off the charts.

Yet, as we speak, the mainstream media is running a total media blackout on this story. Governments are pretending there is no problem, and the corporations that built these nuclear facilities (like GE) are quietly running disinfo campaigns to convince everybody there is no problem.

I've just published an urgent feature story on this issue, outlining the facts about Fukushima reactor No. 4:
http://www.naturalnews.com/035789_Fukushima_Cesium-137_Plume-Gate.html

I've also reprinted an urgent press release from a coalition of organizations calling for urgent UN intervention to deal with Fukushima before it kills us all:
http://www.naturalnews.com/035788_Fukushima_United_Nations_radiation.html

I'm urging you to forward and share these stories and help raise the alarm. Nothing else is important anymore. It doesn't matter who is running for President, what's in the vaccines, or whether GMOs are labeled if our civilization is dead from radiation! NaturalNews is shifting our editorial priorities to focus on Fukushima. All other stories are being made secondary to this urgent issue.

I'm also recording a "radiation survival 101" audio program.

I'm assigning coverage of Fukushima to our staff writers and investigators, so expect to see a lot more reporting on Fukushima until (and if) this Reactor No. 4 problem is properly addressed.

In the mean time, just one earthquake in Japan could unleash the worst-case scenario, sending a massive plume of Cesium-137 headed directly at North America. The fate of our world now rests on the unpredictability of Pacific Rim earthquakes! This is a stupidly risky roll of the dice we've all walked into, and if we don't make it, future archeologists will one day discover a fine layer of Cesium-137 dust followed by a global mass extinction event.

Nothing else is important compared to this. We either solve the Fukushima situation -- and then eliminate ALL nuclear power plants on the planet -- or we carve our own graves in the sad, pathetic history of an arrogant civilization "suicided" by corporate-run science.

Pray for our world today. We may have already killed ourselves with stupidity.

Fukushima reactor 4 requires urgent intervention; coalition calls for emergency UN
action to halt catastrophic release of radiation (NaturalNews) Kyoto, Japan -- On 30 April, seventy-two Japanese NGO organizations lead by Shut Tomari and Green Action send an urgent request to the UN and Japanese government urging immediate action to stabilize the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant...

WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON EARTH DAY?

EARTH DAY is Sunday April 22, 2012. Every year on April 22 Earth Day is celebrated since it was started in the 1970's, thought to be the beginning of the environmental movement. Most protestors at that time were against the Vietnam war. But cars were gas guzzlers, air pollution was acceptable, and climate change had not been thought up. However, a woman named Rachael Carson had published a book called “Silent Spring” in 1962. It sold over 500,000 copies in 24 countries and alerted people to the dangers of pesticides accumulating in the earth and its food chains. She has to be given credit for bringing thoughtfulness about our environment to the public eye.

The actual creator of Earth Day was Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson after he witnessed the massive oil spills off the coast of Santa Barbara, Ca. He proposed a “National teach-in on the environment” to the media and accumulated staff and volunteers to promote various events on April 22. Twenty million Americans gathered and demonstrated for a healthy, sustainable environment in coast-to-coast rallies. Groups that had been fighting against oil spills, polluting factories and power plants, raw sewage, toxic dumps, pesticides, freeways, the loss of wilderness, and the extinction of wildlife suddenly realized they shared common values.

The first Earth Day led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts.

In 1990 Earth Day went global, mobilizing 200 million people in 141 countries and lifting environmental issues onto the world stage. President Bill Clinton awarded Senator Nelson the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1995 -- the highest honor given to civilians in the United States -- for his role as Earth Day founder.

Earth Day 2000 had 5,000 environmental groups in a record 184 countries reaching out to hundreds of millions of people. Earth Day 2010 was focused on Earth Day Network which reconfirmed Earth Day as a powerful focal point around which people could demonstrate their commitment.

Mobilize the Earth. Earth Day. 4.22.12

On April 22, more than one billion people around the globe will participate in Earth Day 2012 and help Mobilize the Earth™. People of all nationalities and backgrounds will voice their appreciation for the planet and demand its protection.
Attend a local Earth Day event and join one of the Earth Day campaigns to elevate the importance of environmental issues around the world.
Share what you are doing for Earth Day: register your Earth Day events, put them on Facebook, or send a tweet.
Website: http://www.earthday.org/2012

And as you all know, my particular environmental interest revolves around nuclear awareness. We still are not sure of the far reaching effects of the Fukushima disaster. Dr. Helen Caldicott of Boston said if the number 4 nuclear reactor had a further meltdown and explosion of radioactive material she would evacuate her family to South America. There are further admissions of radioactive water being leaked into the ocean from the Fukushima site. The past Prime Minister Kan of Japan has stated he was not aware of how dangerous nuclear plants can be. He now wants all the plants closed in Japan and decommissioned. He reminds us that hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced and cannot return to their homes because of this disaster.

Studies are now showing increased rates of cancer in certain of the populations residing next to nuclear reactors. 50% of the people polled around selected nuclear plants stated they had no idea what to do if the warning sirens went off. We may have to wait twenty years to see the full effects of the radiation released from Fukushima. Hopefully it will not be another Silent Spring.
